With your 2014 taxes in the rear view mirror have you spent any time analyzing your 2014 income taxes to see if changes can be made that would put you in a better position for the current year. In particular I’d be interested if you received a large refund as those are dollars that could have been in your pocket earlier with some adjustments to your W-4. Now, getting a refund isn’t a bad thing and in fact it acts as a forced savings account for many people. However, if you are getting back thousands of dollars each year perhaps some planning is in order.
Talk with your tax advisor about things that can be done regarding your income taxes. It may be that you are already doing all that you can and if that is the case so be it. Odds are good that a change or two would be possible and have a positive impact on your income tax picture.
